Hendrix and Gibbons are 2 real humble folks. These guys were musicians. They did it for the love of music, not for the paycheque.

8.1 are tough to hop up. They were different then earlier big blocks. There is only 1 company that makes performance parts really.
My favorite is the LQ4 6.0L. I've taken wore out/houred out ones that need valves or a camshaft, and beat the snot out of em trying to kill em so I didn't have to fix em. And still had to fix em.
Tons of em out there. They had throttle cables when installed in G vans till 08 ish. Trucks went fly by wire after 2003. Egr was gone in 2003.
I'm not a performance guru. Im a fix em and make em run well guy. Lots of info out there..
I have freinds that swap in the newer 6.2s into older vehicles. Lightweight aluminum blocks.
Easy to disable active fuel management.
And there is a bazillion of em out there in escalades/denalis etc.Brettj3876, cke, Troy_ and 7 others Thank this. -
I wish I had a little more insight into how your brain works.TripleSix, Brettj3876, cke and 6 others Thank this.

The 6.2L makes me a bit nervous with that aluminum block. Don't know how well that would hold up to 8-10 PSI for a while.
I've thought about juicing up a 4.8L though. With the shorter stroke I bet a guy could make a real high RPM screamer out of one.Brettj3876, cke, PoleCrusher and 6 others Thank this. -
It is more enjoyable when everything goes good, especially the cooking process.
Keeping the fire right is a big undertaking in itself. Real easy to burn the molasses....
I took care of the fire as well as worked the skimmings off the top as it cooked, which makes it easier on the other person working the end of the pan.
It can be a lot of fun when enough folks join in and know what to do, or just lend a hand when needed......Brettj3876, cke, Swine hauler and 10 others Thank this. -
Never seen an aluminum block fail ever. Dry iron sleeved. 6 bolt mains etc. Head bolts are extremely long.
Takes boost all day in cts-v, camaros and vettes.
CTS-V is a bad a@# car by the way.Brettj3876, cke, PoleCrusher and 5 others Thank this. -
I’m gonna get flack for this, but I’d argue that Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn were #1 and #2Brettj3876, cke, farmerjohn64 and 5 others Thank this.
