Pete 579 diagnostic hookup for Bendix C.M.

According to the manufacturer, (Bendix) they have a free software download on their website that will allow you to take your laptop computer & hook up to your truck thru the diagnostic port on drivers side under dash and with this software you would be able to download new parameters for the Collision Mitigation, Lane Guidance, & Adaptive Cruise Control systems.

Only problem is, even though the software is free, they want like $600 for the diagnostic cables that go between laptop & truck diagnostic port. No freakin way! I’m not paying dealer prices for one either and I can’t get any sticky fingers on the one laying around our shop. Does anybody know where I could get one of these complete cable kits that don’t have any kind of lockout or BS like that? Surely there is one out there for less than $600! I’m afraid of anything on Amazon or eBay, because of all the protections these truck computers have on them nowadays. I have an HP laptop with Windows 10 and several USB & micro-USB ports in it.

If I could just drive down the road without that beeping.... I would be one happy, happy, hap hap happy dude!! It might not sound bad, but believe me...IT IS torture! Please help me...I’m going legit crazy over here!

Nah, they had safeguards for their own safeguards when it came to changing any of that mess. I learned to deal with it the best I could until they threw in a driver facing camera to the mix and then I just had to turn in my keys and move on. My sanity is slowly returning

I know I’m super late responding to this in 2024 but thier is a way to get around the bendix system in a 579 (at least ) all you need is aluminum foil a ratchet with a 8mm socket you can either keep the plug connected to the black box or in my case disconnect that bs and put aliumim foil around the box the only issue with this is your cruise control will stop working but other then that problem is gone
