Mercer

anyone have any info on mercer transportation based in lousville ky? im thinking of moving over there as an oo, for their dryvan div. need to know if they are pretty good and decent, decent miles, 2500 or more per week, and good paying frieght since it is %pay 74%

 

now ive never leased to or worked for mercer but i have on occasion trip leased to them , they are an old company been around a long time there money is good and pretty nice to work with as far as good freight in these times who knows its a mess out here right now but as far as the company you could do a lot worse. good luck to you.-----southernpride

 

we are in the flatbed div...but I have Friends in the vans......as an O/O I think you have to be diligent with your finances no matter where you are. I know one team that thought things are down they say things are going good considering...I know another team that are always crying hard times ....but I know things that might explain the whys of this that I will NOT put in a public forum....so O/O is a business and you have to treat it like a business not a job.....be set up to haul the loads that are available and willing to work.....

 

As what the blue horse said... Those loads that you see one their website are the loads that the Mercer contractors won't haul for one reason or another... Or possibly there isn't a Mercer truck in the area & that load has to go! So they offer it to all Independents, brokers, & carrier's.

When I signed on, I wanted to do the stepdeck route. But after talking to other stepdeckers, they told me to stick with the skateboard.

We have all kinds of info!!! But you might want to give them a call. The last I heard they weren't leasing any van's on until the economy rebuilds.

Once again she is correct. We have the same name on our trucks... We do the same job... I consider her & all other Mercer trucks my friends, co-workers, & colleiges. We share info that may help save fuel, expand tire life, make a truck last longer.... But at the same time they are my competition.

 

Looks like all the Mercer threads were purged together & moved.... Makes it harder to find particular info.

NO they have some lease/purchase trailers..
