A reversible power takeoff that is on the top of an auxiliary transmission.
It gives your pto as many speeds as you have in the main transmission in both directions. The gears, bearings and shaft are much larger than a pto that is main trans mounted and can put a lot more torque to a gear or shaft. It can also be used while moving in a yard. Many oilfield bed trucks have or had a main winch on a power tower and 2 or more auxiliary winches hydraulically driven.Lostkeys, Eldiablo, singlescrewshaker and 8 others Thank this. -

Have a question for you: Ringgold GA scale, northbound...passed by a couple times, full house of diesel bears, but the parking is chock full of pilot cars. No OSOW anywheres. What’s the deal?Eldiablo, singlescrewshaker, cke and 4 others Thank this. -
I’m not sure, that’s certainly odd. Possibly a superload is moving in the area and that’s where they will swap out pilots and a new driver and continue north into Tennessee. Georgia has been wanting to move supers at night in that area due to the construction in Atlanta.
It could also have something to do with the construction up around Chattanooga, maybe bringing a bunch of beams in to set overnight?
I haven’t been down in the southeast in a few months, been steady from NJ to WA and back.Eldiablo, singlescrewshaker, cke and 5 others Thank this.
