I think yall either just have terrible luck or are fear mongerers. Everyone I know personally running dark tints dont have these problems. Ever. And if they do they just take the ticket and keep on truckin noone i know personally has ever had to peel off their tints on the side of the road or in front the scalehouse. Not saying it doesn't happen, definitely heard of it but not from any credible source that I can verify...

The ticket isn’t bad, the points on CVSA isn’t bad either only 3 points. But it is a hassle. When I quit running thru Iowa, Missouri. I will return my windows

I have 35% on the sides, and a strip across the top of both windshields. I used to have a bottom strip but Arkansas made me peel it. I run Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska,Texas, Mississippi and Alabama the most. No one has said a word about it other than the bottom brow

We keep our hoods shiny for just this reason.

I don't run east, so mine is almost always just above straight out from my eye level. That's quite a bit lower than your pic. The guys that run the NE get stupid with it trying to make height.
I know California (and I'm sure elsewhere) has a regulation that the bottom of the rack must be 23" inches from the cushion of my seat. I'm not hunting it up right now, former engineer for Delavan posted it in one of my Facebook groups quite a while back.
