So i am actually a dispatcher for a heavy duty tow truck company, and i was tasked with trying to figure out a efficient way to map out a heavy haul route for doing permit runs. Does anyone know of anything that might be helpful? Thanks.
Are there any good Apps or software for heavy haul permit mapping?

no app.simple- laminated atlas and write on wipe off pen... easy peasy, cheap, and every truck needs an atlas anyway.
besides if you get a route you need to look it over before you roll anyway or bad things can happen. like looking for a rt# in pittsburgh. and finding ones self in the wrong lane on a bridge. and rolling a tire off on the jersey barrier because long pipe in the wrong lane is not good....
map books are your friend...beastr123 Thanks this. -

I assume OP means before ordering a permit, wants to know about restrictions, etc.....

All/most heavy haul companies have the software......Its the same software Combat/WCS permit companies have. I just don't know how to get my hands on it.

Also there is a thread about a gps for oversize loads on here somewhere....

You can do all the wishful OS route mapping you want till the cows come home...in the end it's the individual states permitting dept. that decides how you go...
