If you've never had to chain up to get out of a lot, call me when you have actual experience. Don't hate on FX drivers just because they make more than you.

You assume a lot. The interstate was closed east of me in both directions and eastbound only west of me. I was westbound and completing a reset. Planning had nothing to do with it, it was the morons scattered everywhere, half of them stuck that prevented my leaving. Had they been professional drivers they would not have blocked both sides of a row of trucks.

That is unfortunate ur lack of planning thru the windy state has made u decide it was everybody elses fault u couldnt go anywhere. Anybody that runs thru wyoming this time of year should understand that u must plan 2-3 days in advance and make sure u always have a way out if the roads get closed. Sometimes the best way thru wyoming is a detour around it.

Yep, your right. Back in the day I used to run to So Cal out of midwest. I’d run down across US54, and I40 in winter. Just avoid the Wyoming Shidt show.

Done there. Been that. Had to crawl across 70 through Colorado to avoid Wyoming once last year. And I escaped having to chain up.

Halloween night, 2000, left Barretts, MT heading back to Denver, couple hairs (I do mean hairs) under 80K, not a cloud in the sky, a tad crisp, at Sinclair it started to drizzle, at Elk it was flurries, at Wagonhound it was full on snow. The last 15 miles into Laramie I was weaving from delineation marker to delineation marker trying to stay on the road visibility was so bad, at one point I roughly counted 5 headlights behind. 80 was closed Laramie to Cheyenne, 287 was closed to Ft. Collins, I spent the night at the Walmart in Laramie. Woke up the next morning, at least 60 trucks scattered through the lot, front end loader was clearing snow, he'd clear a big patch, knock on doors and ask drivers to move. By 10 am, 287 was open, and probably 300 trucks left Laramie at the same time, some headed to Denver, others detoured back to 80 and east. 5 miles south of the Colorado state line there was not single evidence of snow, yet every truck heading south looked like they'd come out of a blizzard.
