I had a Honda 4000 when I had my electrical business. It was pretty bullet proof, but also $2500, and that was 25 years ago.
You're not going to be using it much. So I think I'd opt for the Predator from HF. -
but is 4000 watts a good place to be? Just running a refrigerator and a fan?
-
It's loud, but if it's outside, that's not really an issue. It should handle what you're trying to run just fine, and for that price, you're not out much if it breaks. I know you didn't ask me personally, but if I were in your shoes, I'd buy it.Opus Thanks this. -
91B20H8, Dave_in_AZ and God prefers Diesels Thank this.

Just kidding. I hope it lasts years for you.Opus Thanks this. -
The last 5 years or so of electrical career actual turning screws was doing generators and transfer switches in hospitals.
I'm sure several of our members would say you need a 1,000KW 600HP Cummins with ASCO transfer switch with 3 second complete transfer to run your fridge........but you're little stand by will be just fine.God prefers Diesels and Opus Thank this. -
Back when I was in that business, rule of thumb was 5k minimum for home standby, 6.5k if u had a well. That's continuous, not surge capacity
God prefers Diesels Thanks this. -
Just wanna keep the beer and sausage cold, bro.
So now I need yo buy a 220 cord that goes from the generator to the dryer outlet?God prefers Diesels Thanks this. -
