90% of trucking companies make a undisclosed “profit” off their owner operators. Sad but true! Their are companies out there that will only take an acceptable cut off of you. Etc. Texas load handlers 13% my company 10%

The lesson here for leased o/o paid on percentage is if you are going to work with brokers then you and only you need to be talking with and making agreements with the brokers on what the rate will be, detention terns, accessories, etc. It's ok to be lazy about some back office parts of being an o/o, those of us who lease on to avoid some of that BS, that's why we do it. But one thing for sure you dont need any back office support for is negotiating rates with brokers. And you especially don't need some "dispatch service" doing it for you. Otherwise this is usually what happens. When you do that job yourself everything is above the table and everyone is all clear on it. Anyone having a problem with you doing it that way, big red flag.

Figure out the percentage of pay they shorted you on this one load, and use that as a template of how much they've shorted you on every load they have booked you on. Hopefully you have good records and can figure out roughly how much you have been cheated out of. Add a reasonable amount of interest to that amount, and then go to your boss with a dollar figure that will buy your silence. This isn't a small deal for your boss because it's fraud, and somebody will go to jail if it gets prosecuted in court. You should be able to get an out of court settlement without even getting an attorney, although if the amount is big enough, you should have one anyway. You could also consider talking to the local district attorney and have them prosecute it for you.

####ty situation all around. Cut your losses and run your own #s. Then the only ppl you need to worry about screwing you over is the brokerso_O.

That broker that stood up for you is someone to build a relationship with. Not too often you come across a straight shooter like that. Cut your losses and steal some of their freight

That's if it's the broker that's not lying instead of the carrier. Sure the broker said it's the carrier lying, and a lot do, a lot of brokers lie too.

Why not? He's on a conference call with his customer, the shipper, so he's not going to admit to what the carrier is paying him. After all the shipper might go directly to the carrier then.

If it was just the o/o and broker talking, I'd say the likelihood was low the broker is lying. Toss in a conference call with the shipper though, all bets are off.
