hey whaethauler i was pulling for the chiefs here in tn. today but it didn't work out.dallas tried their best to give it to them will all the penalties they had.let's hope the titans can put a 1 on their perfect record tonight, but they are playing indy,so i'm not going to hold my breath waiting.

 

Poinsett R and G is to the right at the light right over the railroad overpass. There's no heads on that they're rolling down. That's probably some that was stripped and that leaves the whole stalk standing. Unless you look for the combine tracks it's hard to tell it's been cut.

 

In a normal year most of the cotton would've been picked by now. This yr they haven't even started up here. In north La. they usually start picking the first week of September. It was so wet here this spring it was planted real late. It was cool all summer so maturity was delayed. Now it's been raining for a month and cool. Over east of Jonesboro where most of the cotton is it looks terrible. They keep trying to defoliate but all the moisture causes constant new growth. The bolls are rotting and the seed is sprouting. This all contributes to hard locking which makes it very hard to pick. I grew up on a cotton farm and I hated the stuff. We could cut 1500 acres of beans before we could pick 600 acres of cotton. We used to cut beans all day then go to the cotton field when the dew fell and tromp cotton trailers half the night. That's probably more than you wanted to know but I kind of got on a roll.
