    Got my foot in the door at UPS as a full time Feeder Driver. Starting pay is 21$. Have to move all the way to Mid-West from Houston Texas though, vibe is very different.

    ODFL called me in and my spouse in for a interview on Monday. Either Local P&D or a TEAM line position will come into play when it’s all set and done, it will be located out of Texas where we live.

    My spouse doesn’t wanna move up there but I do, she has 3 years of experience and I have 1 year and 6 months. I can’t find good work here in Houston but she can.

    I just need some help on Decision making ultimately.

    I don’t wanna pass up the UPS opportunity and can’t make the same cash at ODFL.

    Teaming at ODFL you both can make over $100K each on line haul.
    @blairandgretchen were teams there.

    Had a friend start at UPS as a feeder driver the first part of September. Will quit sometime after Christmas. Says they do not treat employees well. From what I am hearing they are expanding driver counts all over the country. If you wait long enough UPS will be hiring in Texas. I am talking about 4 to 6 months.
    My recommendation is that you DON'T MOVE. A UPS job will open up in Texas so just wait. ODFL would be the more driver friendly place to work for anyway.

    I’d take the feeder option if moving was a possibility in such a short amount of time.

    I did 10 years at UPS and it is a great company and awesome job. You probably won’t make as much money anywhere with as good of benefits as you will eventually at UPS. But who really needs $140,000 a year if you could make $100,000 and not move. Should you move has to be you and your wife’s decision, I wouldn’t move for a job but that is just me. You could make really good money with Old Dominon.

    Based on the title alone I was going to ask how is this even a question...but having to move and convince the wife does change things. I’m not married and even I know that happy wife = happy life. Stay in Houston and keep an eye on UPS openings in your area.

    Well, personally, I'm partial to Brown. But then again, I'm an autumn. *bats eyelashes*

    No, but your terminal will make ALL the difference in the world. I've met guys that are MISERABLE at UPS, and guys that are downright joyous. I fortunately find myself at a good terminal, so I'm in that latter camp.

    Look. Moving is a HUGE step. UPS is a great way to go, but you'd be giving up a lot. Maybe the responder who told you to wait for a job with UPS to open in Texas was right.

    Find out which terminals do teams down by you. Try to get in there.

    $350k a year between the two of you could be useful.
