Don't want to rain on your parade here but the chances of you winning in court against PGT in PA, are.....0!

Sorry but the Commonwealth of western PA isn't going to go against PGT.

    1) should have gotten a light duty/no duty #### from Doctor
    2) You start talking disability/mental instability with any company they are going to get rid of you, if you were liable, would you let a crazy drive down the road in a loaded semi?
I worked for them years ago as an owner-op, I got shoved through the side-kit by a steel coil at LTV in East Chicago(my fault) hurt my back, I talked to Pat in person and he told me to take whatever time I needed and I did, of course all I was into them for was a weekly flatbed payment which they gave me a grace period on. They are a smaller but decent company, any problems and they will (used to anyway) work with you on it, but not if you are a problem child

I know everyone has different experiences with companies but i have to wonder , i was with pgt for over two years in the lease program they treated me good ,i remember one certain incident where i was getting loaded in arkansas , had to breakdown my covered wagon for a load fencing well wind picked up while i was tarping and threw me on the ground , the plant called 911 got taken to the hospital and told me i tore a muscle in my back , could not drive for two weeks , When i was releases from the hospital my wife came and picked me up. PGT sent another driver to get my truck and drove it to the yard in birmingham (closest yard to me in GA) never got charged a dime , Also they took my two truck payments for those two weekes and deferred them to the end of the lease . they never hassled me about coming back to work and I never felt like i was going to lose my job , I am sorry for her brother losing his job but i wonder . if he really is instable maybe its a good thing that he is not behind the wheel untill he gets the help he needs .

Sounds like a great company. They have a yard 45 miles from me. I need to get some experience first. They don't take grads.

I'm just guessing that, taking it all in(power of attorney, needing a week to rest, every aspect of his life seemingly out of control), that this was the latest in a long line of flaky behaviors and that PGT simply had enough, particularly when the drivers sister calls them to inquire about him taking disability! If you hear or read drivers talking about being over-worked, ever notice it's the guys who rarely get things done and they're usually complaining and using it as an excuse for constantly being late. Logic dictates that dependable drivers would be the ones worked to the limit.
When you just, out of the blue, inform your company that you're taking a week off guess what? You just quit your job.
No tow bill? Did these two guys who came for the truck do it for free? The whole thing is silly.

(after looking at his log book and seeing that he was being forced to work about 40-50 hours a week over what was legal but only allowed to submit the legal hours on his timesheet each week)
MAY BE I SHOULD GO TO WORK FOR PGT, SOUND LIKE THEY HAVE THE MILES

Ever hear the expression..."work smarter not harder"?

PGT doesn't pay by the mile.
