Yea...this is a lot of trainees.

I am split between Millis and Roehl right now. I have my CDL-A and Passport and TWIC but haven't driven recently and both want me to hit their schools. There is one part of the Millis "welcome" letter that seems odd:

"Once you complete your MTI schooling (Millis' CDL school) you will
be awarded a chance to work for Millis Transfer"

    :biggrin_2554: huh? :biggrin_2552: WTF?

..so I called Roehl, they told me if they hire me into their RDTC that as long as I pass I HAVE a job with them.

    :biggrin_25517:

I have a very long thread elsewhere about trying to decide to leave my current career and go back into trucking, but if I opt to, it likely would be for one of these 2 companies.

actually the number is most likely closer to 1000 trainees. Roehl has orientations at Marshfield, Gary, and Ellenwood. And the number of students starts at 6 and goes up from there. Some classes are as high as 12. That is between experienced and inexperienced.

So whats the end result here....certainly they dont have enough equipment ?
Are drivers leaving just as fast as new hires are coming in?

I have had kids since then. :biggrin_2552:
    Geez, now I feel old!

1994 was the last time I drove......
    I know..thats sad I guess.

But, my MVR/DAC are totally clear - never any DUI or tickets..knock on wood :biggrin_25519:.

I got my TWIC and passport/passport card already.

Well your on the right track as far as driving history, the problem im afraid is to much time has passed. We can blame the good ole insurance companies for that. unless u can get on with a smaller outfit to start driving again. Not knowing your current job status, but if you gotta a job and bills are being paid please think hard before going trucking again. its slim pickins :biggrin_25513:

I am a newbie...gonna run reef for Roehl OTR. Planning on being out 3-4 weeks at a shot. Was just curious if there are many west coast runs or mostly Tx and such. Don't wanna hear negatives or "warnings" about the company. Just where a lot of the reefers are running at the moment...if there is an area of the country where they mostly haul to/from. Thanks! I appreciate it guys/gals!

I'm curious where the reefers are running too. I rarely see any.

There are very few runs west, mostly from WI. Refers go both West and East not so much South. Up to Boston, MA and to Oakland, CA. Lots of Kraft Foods stuff like cheese and pizza.
If you are from Texas, there are some good runs from border to IL and WI.
