This company operates out of Boise Idaho, is also running a school under the same company called Idaho Provisioners. The school has NO accreditation and is being used as a business to generate income rather than train qualified drivers. Unfortunately, I went through this school and was told "All we are worried about right now is getting your CDL"...... Was pushed into taking the test within 4 days of starting the school. Less than 3 hours classroom, and less than 12 hours behind the wheel with no prior experience. They will say anything to get you to sign up for the school.
I was with an over the road trainer for a total of 9 days before being sent solo on my first run to Allentown PA. They have a habit of not paying reimbursements and lacking driver support. When I was with the trainer it was more of a team operation rather than a training run. These people are dishonest and are a horrible company to work with. I would have been better off to train with Swift.

I am currently training with Cargo Express and honestly, if they did this to me I would be happy. We need the income in our household at the moment and getting on the road faster would pay the bills faster.

As for your experience though, I have dealt with Cargo a long time, between my training now and my Father and Brother working for them previously and I doubt they would have done this if the trainer had not believed you were ready for it.

My friend, the path you are about to embark upon WILL NOT pay your bills. Quite the contrary. You have many dues to pay and getting away from a training company is the main path to actually paying your bills in this job. At best, you will get experience that you can apply to another (more worthwhile) job further down the line.
I wish you well and hope that your present path doesn't ruin you before better times prevail.

Hmm, so you think that $0.28 cpm (in writing and signed) combined with only $86 per week for 26 weeks (weekly pay checks) for paying off the school won't pay the bills?

I've already done the figures combined w/ my deductions and have a good idea what I will make after doing the research and talking to people there to find out what kind of miles I will run and figured low at 2400 miles per week.

Also, I know how to live on the road. My father drove for 35+ years till Insilun and Alzhiemer's took it away from him. My brother has done OTR for over 10 years now and is now a local driver.

Overall the biggest mistakes I know are made by both new and old drivers are how they spend there money on the road.

Even .25 cpm would be fine with me, but I'm happier with the .28 I will be getting.

Cargo Express, hmm well i do know that they usually need drivers., about 50 at any given time according to the ads they run saying so, then if your truck needs fixed they move you into another truck, i have a friend that worked for them that was supposed to be on a dedicated run from boise to denver co and back, that lasted 2 trips then they had him going all 48, he didnt stay due to that.

Cargo Express is a company that pulls for Navajo (a much bigger and more professional outfit). The biggest problem with Cargo is that they are unwilling to work with navajo when it comes to expenses and also scheduling with drivers. The second biggest problem with this company is that the owner, dennis, has hired his two son IN LAWS to help dispatch Cargo drivers. The problem with this is that Dennis is not only supporting his family, but also his two daughters families, too. So, he can't fire them! Which is VERY much needed in order to get this company out of the slump it has been in.

    Cargo Express:

Has no BENEFITS (do not believe what there website says, it is outdated).
Does NOT get you home to see your family.
Will give you SEVERAL loads that take one day to drive, yet you can't drop the load off for three days (therefore your sitting making no money for the other days, usually on a weekend because they have the weekend off, they'll get you a load monday morning after they've rested with their families. Leaving you stranded in BFE until they're good and ready to give you another load).
I'm always on the phone with the very nice pay roll lady because i've found that cargo has not payed me for miles i've driven, my reimbursements, or my substantial bonus i deserve at the end of the month that makes it all worth it.

Before deciding to work for cargo ask to speak with a few drivers that have been with them for a couple months and they will explain to you the same things I have just listed..

I am not just some irate driver, I'm still employed with this company and CANNOT wait til i have enough experience to work for someone else!

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT go through their schooling!! the price has risen by 1200 dollars since i took it. there are several other options, just look around! I would love to help you, but they would fire me in a heart beat if i listed contact information.

    TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

By all means, flag this for removal, i have it saved and will repost until the day I leave your scandalous, money hungry, selfish, NO GOOD, CRAPPY COMPANY!!

so there (This was posted from an angry driver from Cargo Express posted on Craigslist)

Your not an ex felon your a felon who is wanting to do something with your life. You have to start somewhere and you will see that a lot of people do drive by postings on here if you stay long enough. Get on where you can and run as hard as you can until you have experiance then the felony want be as bad as you think, unless you raped or killed someone or have a drug conviction.
