I've used triples probably 500 times and the most efficient way I've found is to just hang em over the top and over the sides, back over em, do em up. Pull forward a few tire rotations, get another link or two if you can and go! Same thing with singles.

5 mins to put em on, 2 mins to take em off.

Ive seen guys use bungie cords,,obviously their first time in the bush,,the bungie just go hard and stiff due to the cold in my area and do nothing. Saw the same guys try "new and improved silicone bungies with the same results. If your chains are installed correctly you don't need bungies,,,tighten the chains and go
I believe there is a tool for tightening chain cams but I used a roller bar..

Not very well and not for long if you drive on pavement or slush.
We were given a couple of sets to test when they first came out. If you didn't have any chains and needed to get yourself out of a tight spot they might be alright but don't count on them.

    magoo68 and Mark_2wain Thank this.

Since Oregon is requiring a traction device on two drags I’ve been thinking about getting a set of sox just for that.

Get two sets. That way you'll have the second set ready for when you destroy the first set. California is especially bad for running you down to the pavement before they'll let you unchain and pavement tears up sox.
After the second set gets you out of the problem that necessitated using first set you can stop somewhere and buy a couple of single chains, which is what you should have done in the first place.
Little old ladies and old half crippled farts like me can throw chains. You should be able to do the same.

I know we're covering old group d, but...
Can you only chain the outer tire on the driver's, or is that state specific.

    Apologies for the derail.
