I also would like law makers to take on and mandate
Cops not on emergency calls follow the same laws we are required to
And if they don't they should like us in a construction zone get double the fine
kickin chicken, luvmyhubby and kajidono Thank this. -
LOL; I wish the cops had to follow the same rules as the rest of us ALL the time.

You know this has been a very popular topic lately. As most if not all of you have once in your driving careers been in the left lane traveling down a busy highway and along comes a State Trooper right behind you. You attempt to pull out of his lane and gone that ####### is, like you were standing still. I travel the Mass Pike I-90 into Boston every evening and again back to the good old State of Connecticut where I live in the very early hours 7am in the morning. Well would you have it 4 our of 5 days a State Trooper will appear on my rear bumper no matter how how fast I was going. I proved this to a buddy of mine that used to travel to work with me at one time. We were in that left lane doing 85 miles an hour at 7am and along came the State Trooper on my bumper. So we tried it again the next time, this time I was in the Center lane and when he got close enough I moved to his lane and he flashed his lights and over the loud speaker came, "Please move back to the Center Lane" than gone he was again my speed being 85 in a 65. This was a huge risk on my behalf but I was sure that at this time every day they were in a hurry and weather it was to get punched out or get those morning donuts it very unsafe. I do not make habit of speeding well because I have done my share of speeding and getting caught but I knew for what ever reason at this time in the morning I would not get touch.
With that said, I agree that State Troopers, Cops, government officials should be held to the same rules as we are and because they represent they should be held to it at full force with hefty penalties.
With all the Technology they have today, we should be able to control or allow greater speeds in such times. Airplanes have black-boxes that hold vital information well such a thing can be placed in emergency vehicles such has police cars, fire trucks, etc. I mean if they are allowed to govern our trucks than why can't they govern others. -
They should not have to ask them to obey the law. They are citizens just like you and I but for some reason they have the mentality that they are "above the Law". I think LEO's should be held to higher standard as they do to us cdl holders. They are in fact supposed to uphold the law not break it. Since they use this crap that we are professional driver so we are held to a higher standard they should be too. If they break the law they should pay a fine 3 times higher than anyone else just like we have to. I won't hold my breath on that though cause I would end up blue like this guy
.
kajidono, lonewolf4ad and cherokee96red Thank this. -
perhaps the police should be the first to have mandatory recorders instead of truck drivers. Any speeding without a documented emergency response should generate a violation!
