What are the conditions from ECM required for the passive regen on Volvo with D13 engine? Like temperatures, engine load etc.
Can they be adjusted with Tech Tool?

Most important would be DOC temperature.....so engine temp, engine load, exhaust temp etc all play their part but if the DOC temp is to low no regen will happen.

My truck is 2010, DPF no Def ,i have problems reneging on the road in colder weather, below 45-50F, puking white smoke /fuel injected by 7th injector won't ignite. I took it to Volvo many times, throw new parts they couldn't find anything wrong without codes. Yesterday i took it in a smaller shop one of this geeks fixing mostly emission gremlins for EGR cooler cleaning because i got low egr flow code, they opened both ends ,was clogged bad at hot end, not leaking coolant. They improvised an ingenious cleaning machine, circulating a degreaser for 3-4 hours through pressure washer pump. All was done without removing the EGR cooler from truck, which is a nightmare for D13, have to take down turbo.
After was done they run a parked regen, plunged to diagnostic tool, we watched the parameters, something Volvo never done, just took my $$.
What they showed me was the Temp sensor on top of DPF , was showing 100 degrees only and not fluctuation at all, while the others were around 600 -fluctuating. So, i've been told that sensor could be bad, even if doesn't throw codes, this guy said the ecm stops the 7th injector fuel dosing if temp is that low. I replaced the sensor myself, i'll see next days if runs regen properly while driving.Last edited: Nov 8, 2020

Very plausible...no code because sensor is working (perhaps not correctly but ecm doesnt know better).
Make sure your not running bio-diesel as it causes regen issues because it runs to cold. -
