Fluid leak help.

I tightened the hose and it appears to have stopped the leak! Next up trying to track down the source of the oil leak!

 

so after having the truck sit for almost 3 weeks, this is the amount of oil it has leaked. Should I be concerned and try to track down the leak? I know it’s an older truck so I assumed it was going to leak. The whole underside is coated with oil. Some on the exhaust, the trans, oilpan, pto pump. It appears to be coming from higher than the oil pan as you can see where it dripped down the pan. Any suggestions on what I should do?

 

That’s the next step, I need to crawl back under and try to clean what I can off to see where the leaks coming from. I wasn’t sure if it’s worth trying to track down or not.

 

Just got the truck inspected finally they are saying it’s a wheel seal, and they are going to replace it. Said it’ll be 4-600 if the leak didn’t wreck the new brake pads. If it did it’ll be more. Sucks but nothing I can do about it.

 

Trust me I would be doing it myself, currently though it is the middle of winter and I don’t feel like working outside in 10 degree weather to do the seal myself, next time I certainly will as I am hoping to have access to garage space soon. But until then, I’ll take the loss and pay some to deal with it.

 

The truck has had less than 100 miles pit on since I bought it, it’s been sitting as I’ve been waiting for my dumpsters to arrive etc. I have 2 different leaks oil leak from somewhere on the engine and something in the wheel. Wheel seal seems logical as the inside of the wheel is wet with oil. I have no experience in this so I am not sure and just going off of what the mechanic is saying
