I have heard that Amazon pays it's contractors as little as possible and expect a lot. But.....I have no first hand experience. I see some pretty beat up trucks hauling those Blue "Prime" Boxes though. I would think if the contracts were profitable, the big Megas would be snapping them up. Their business model allows them to run on a pretty slim profit margin. Good luck!

I deliver to an Amazon DC a few times per week. The OTR drivers I see there seem to be the same ones hauling containers. The only mega I see is JB Hunt. It's a 24-hour operation and there's always at least 20 bobtails waiting in the yard outside the gate for loads, which is roughly the size of a small truckstop. So I'm guessing it's alot of hurry-up and wait. I've heard that Amazon is prone to canceling loads and there's not much you can do about it.

 

Know a few O/O’s that have run Amazon loads.
They seem to have a lot of rules. One is that they will not release the trailer until it’s scheduled departure time.

 

Expect $1.30/mi.

 

Then they will probably penalize you when it delivers late!

 

In 9 months you did well enough where you are now to buy an additional 4 trucks and employ 5 drivers.

Any reason why you wouldn't just stay there?.

 

From experience you need to have all teams and do the contracts to make money. They pay team contracts $9700 a week plus FSC. Solo contracts are $3500 for 5 13hr blocks and $5000 for 3 36hr blocks.
