My license is still good & so is my medical card. What I'm saying is I get out in July 2021 but my medical card expires in June 2021. Will the medical card expiring cause my license to be downgraded? Also FYI when I was out before I got incarcerated as soon as I got my license I got a job driving a cement truck . So I don't see felonies as a obstacle, just depends how desperate the company is.

There's a couple of OTR box truck companies in Atlanta area.
You may already have a job lined up, but if not, there's plenty in Georgia. -
A drivers medical card is tied to CDL today. So if your medical card expires your CDL will be down graded in the DMV computer they day it expires. Most state I believe send warning letter before in case driver didn't know. My state does anyway.
Once you get out just get a new medical card and send it to the state. They should upgrade your CDL again. Your CDL should be good till whenever it expires. The new law has it tied to a valid medical card. So the CDL does not expire just medical card part does. So get a new card send it in your should be good to go again.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Unfortunately you can't take the easy route and self-certify to an excepted class because Georgia DDS requires you to submit the self-certification for in person.
