Your employer should be shot for giving out your personal cell number. If your employer wants to you to be tracked or speak with brokers then they should stop being cheap and give a company phone to handle such responsibilities. You're nicer than I am because I'd be raising massive cain over something like that.

Oh I got a feeling when the broker receives the "demand" I have to send before I could file a lawsuit in court offering them an opportunity to settle, they will convey their discord to my employer. Who I am sure will then get the picture since telling employer "its your job to talk to brokers, not mine and stop giving my number to brokers" wasn't clear enough. I got a feeling, if all goes well, this broker will be telling my employer to take a long walk off a short pier regarding any future loads.

Can't blame you. Your employer was beyond ignorant for doing that to you IMO. Phones are really cheap and so is service.

Yes, sir. I agree. I am not even sure if TCPA violations would apply, but if so it is more than enough money (far more than the load paid), to make them think before they go calling and texting drivers.

This is great advice, thanks for sharing. If every driver did this it would save everyone a lot of time.

I think it's easy to forget that all the tracking calls and requests originate with someone trying to make sure their customer is taken care of.

I can't imagine your employers thinking to themselves, "Ole Metalicious just sued one of our customers, we definitely should keep him around!", but hey you do you.

Meh. I can't imagine continuing to tell them to NOT give my number to a broker. So I really don't care what they might think or say. And if you JimmyTwoTimes are a broker you may want to personally brush up on the issue yourself. Cause rest assured you ever broker a load i haul and you call or text when I've told ya to stop, well, ya kinda get handled then don't ya? Isn't any info the broker needs that has to come directly from the driver. And no, I don't have to allow any broker to require me to use any app for them to "track" the load.

sad truth...its a new world we live in if your a company driver your employer should have a ELOG system that can connect with most broker apps (many ELDS have integrations with various apps). If your a single owner operator either have the same system or get a work phone that can handle the tracking. Fewer loads will be available to you if you dont comply...its not a conspiracy but customers demand visibility. Most of the tracking apps only track when your signed into the actual app and into the load. If there is a breakdown of communication and you keep getting annoying text for tracking the best thing is to have your dispatcher or driver call the broker provide a status and move on. Its easy to talk about not complying with broker demands in a good market...when the tide flips which it always does what then? Stay consistent and find a solution. Ramble over and out...

I agree. But can also understand drivers frustration with repeated check calls. For example, I had 4 check calls from 4 different people from large broker in an hour. This was even after I did everything in my post. Maybe an unusual case, but obviously no one updated the system and communicated with each other.
