    Hi guys!

I have done 4 oil samples at 15k and I have 7% of diesel in the oil. Spoke with a mechanic and he said it was fine to keep it running as long as the oil level isnt going up. I have been adding 2 gals of oil in between oil changes at 15k miles... 7% seems quite alot because 7% is almost a gallon because my truck takes 10 gallons of oil. My idle oil pressure when hot is 22psi abd when going down the road is 45psi...

Oil viscosity is at normal levels and my oil pump and rods and main has been done... i also have brand new injectors...

Let me know what you think..

Maybe one of the injectors is leaking on the top side. Sometimes the little screws in the solenoid break, or get loose and fall out. You can see a leak with the valve cover off, and check the screws, there’s 4 of them on each solenoid. Happened on mine, the injector was old. Solenoid was cracked and leaking. It was a big leak, squirting out under pressure. Put 10 gallons of diesel in oil. I ran it about 80 miles before it shutdown. Didn’t hurt it, but front main leaked afterwards. Oil was so thinned out, it was leaking from everywhere. I don’t know if a leaky injector cup can cause that much diesel in oil. I’d want to make sure they installed graphite crush seals in the injector cups, when they put the new injectors in. It’s a good idea on the 12.7, in case of any minor damage to seat of the cups, along with the oversized O ring on top, to keep coolant out of the oil. I wonder if an internally leaking fuel pump could be putting diesel through the compressor, and into the oil. Don’t know if that’s possible. Just trying to figure out what else could cause it. If it wasn’t a problem before changing injectors, I’d suspect one of them first.

Just a wild guess, but you let it idle a lot? And not bumping the RPM's up while its sitting there idling? If so yes you will be getting fuel in the oi. Mine I bump up to around 900 RPMS and it does not do that. But let it idle without bumping the RPMS up and it will get fuel into the oil

Sounds like a leaking injector then.

Look around each cylinder on the exhaust manifold gasket, sometimes it will be wet around the cylinder with a bad injector. It’s probably leaking from the top, under the valve cover. That’s a lot of fuel, if it were leaking into the cylinder, seems it would cause hard cranking, or the cylinder to lock up, till the fuel washes past the rings. I guess it could only be leaking while running. I really don’t know myself. Only know my own 2 experiences with bad injectors. One was blown, other was leaking real bad at solenoid. Both times it ran very rough. Actually had a third one go bad, right before I overhauled it. Same thing, fuel seeping around exaust manifold, and blowing into turbo.

Change your oil NOW!. TOO MUCH fuel in oil. What kind of a oil test determined the 7% The desktop models cannot determine the difference between oil and fuel. Both come from crude oil.
