As I read it the ecoLAST filter allows for doubling the oil change interval. Would that not be 40 or 50,000 miles by todays standards? That is extended!

I use donaldson for my ser 60 detroit
If donaldson is not available I'll use detroit filters from my freightliner dealer.
A few year's ago while at fleet pride buying a fuel filer for my davco, the guy behind the counter asked if I cared what name was on my bill? Said if I didn't care he could sell me the filter for $3.92 each.
I bought 2 case's. Another truck part's did the same for me without me even enquiring about it, though he asked first.
I never knew this would be an option.rollin coal and jamespmack Thank this. -
I didn't know detroit filters were donaldson. I wonder if they are identical on the inside?

I should order on line but I dont. Get them local and support local business.
I always use donaldson. I sample every change and consistently if I cant get donaldson and use another brand soot goes up in my next sample. The donaldson, I'm told, filter out finer particles. Works for me.heavyhaulerss, rollin coal and jamespmack Thank this. -
@rollin coal ,I picked up these filters from Napa today. The 1971 is the Detroit oil filter.
jamespmack and rollin coal Thank this. -
Looks like the second Friday of each month is "filter friday" at Napa. That's comparable to what I paid for the wix I have now.

Hello everyone, need some advises here regarding Napa Gold 1971oil filter (by wix# 51971) I have series 60 14L pre-Egr and wanted to switch to wix oil filter 51971 and fuel filter Wix 33651XE I have been using Detroit Genuine or Donaldson P552100 oil filter and fuel filter but for price wise Detroit or Donaldson filters are becoming pricey here in Canada.
I do get some good price on wix or napa gold filters.
I do oil change and filter change at 15k miles using 10W30 winter and conventional 15W40 after winter.
*Is it worthy and safe to switch to wix regarding quality wise?
*How good wix filters are for series 60 .
* It's OK to switch between 10W30 and 15W40?
I will appreciate some insight. -
I've used both the Napa Gold and WIX filters on my 14L. They're as good as any other filter. If you can get them cheap use them. I always ran 15w40 in mine. Whatever benefit is supposed to come from swapping to 10w30 is hard to imagine. Newer engines seem to all be engineered for 10w30 anymore.

Got it ,thanks
