Have you been ontime on all loads and haven't turned down any? Davids been there a while and he's one of the better DM. Freight has just been slow lately. there will be months where your miles will increase substantially, but with 2700 - 3100 u should still be able to clear 1000 take home easily. Just hang in there.
Where have u been running? Once ur in the midwest area running to mid cali areas ur miles should go up a lil. Freight is slow in LA and phoenix right now.

Just got a call from Carrie wanted to know if we could move our start date sooner. We can't as we gave a 30 day notice and want to honor it...:\ 2700-3100 miles a week is now a 'good' week for a solo IC at our current company, but you don't clear anywhere near a $1000.00 here with that. Thanks everyone for all the great info... can't wait to start!

Also if your given 4 days to get a load there, and take 4 days to do it you are not giving yourself a chance to swap the load or drop it in a yard. It doesn't always work out that way, sometimes you hustle to get there and end up having time to rest up. I treat every load like its "hot". But sometimes I get to drop or swap and get an extra 500-1000 mile extra for the week.

Yup just as what jarbo said. This is a business your running. First figure out how much u need to make to clear all ur personal expenses, then u'll get an idea of how many miles you will need to run in order to just pay the bills then whatever over that will be ur profit. Second, maximize the profits on your trk by trying to improve mpg, you will be surprised that by getting ur mpg up .5 to 1 you will make the same amount of money driving 500 to 1000 miles less. In my opinion it just comes down to how you run ur business.

Man i need to do something with my life and job. I got layoff with Yellow in Nov. of last year, and just have found a so so job for now. I hear a lot of good and bad about leasing with JCT.
If I could bring home say $600 to $800 a week after every thing comes out and taxes also i think i would do a lease.

I will say there are quirks in every company. There will never be a "PERFECT" one. However with that said this is the best by far I have ever worked for.Take the time to read this entire thread. You will find a bunch of the info you seek.JCT does not take taxes out so you have to pay your own. With that said I would make more if I could just slow down.My mpg stinks its like 5.4 in a t600 with the c15 cat I think but hey I have increased my income by almost 5 times of what it was at my last company so I have no complaints. To only make 600 to 800 dollars a week here is to have a bad week or not have your trips end at the right time.It all comes out in the wash though.Gotta go now.I am waiting for a driver who according to the person who called me said he has punked out(the driver).935 miles by 9:15 am tomorrow ............piece of cake

I'm sure you know but I wanted to point out the fact to the others that on here 5.6 -6.5 may not seem like that big of a deal, however its a differance of a few hundred dollars every week or several thousand at the end of the year that could have been spent on important things, like chrome! :)

I did the math based on 3400 miles a week, earlier and lost my paper.

Do you guys know what limitations on modifications you can do to your trucks ie Fass fuel, exhaust, steer tire on the drives, bypass and Pittsburgh power harness?
