Hmm, I operated out of the Georgia terminal, I can't even rememember how long I was there, not long. My car tires, all four of them had been ice picked, or punctured, while I was out on my very first trips with them and while I give kudos to the lady in their offices, (she was the ONLY one who helped me other then the wrecker driver) she gave me some help to get a tow truck. One of my very first checks from them went to new tires. But while I was talking to the policeman, I kept asking if he would find out whether or not the cameras on top of the building were indeed operational, that perhaps the whole thing may be on film, he kept asking me if I had a "revengeful ex-wife???"....While I couldn't get an answer from anyone there who knew anything about said cameras I told them that since I purposely parked my car up front, near the friggin front entrance, and nobody noticed anyone tampering with my car, nor noticed that one day my tires were fine, then flat, along with the car cover being thrown off the car, that I could no longer work there.I mean what would be the purpose, I put on new tires, and someone does it to me again.... I got my new tires and left for a brighter tomorrow, just to have a blemish on my dac which stated "unauthorized use of equipment"...

P.S. I was also told by someone there that drivers sometimes "purposely" flatten their tires so no one could steal their car.............My car was a 92 Camaro, anyone with any sense is going to realize that the car sits low to the ground as is, when all four tires were flattened, it was practically sitting on the ground.....but yeah I did that so my car wouldn't be stolen.........pleeeease

:protest:I work for them for About five yrs ,and in that time ,I have never worked for one that is so miss organized in my life. When i started it was some what seem to be a good company until a week later. It went down hill. That longshore character needs to not have a trucking company of any sort or even be with one. At the time I started there ,It was called metal ,then it went to Xxpress, and now I have been told by a very reliable source, that the name is change to the name of his boat with logistics on only the trucks that are safe with safe drivers in them. He was taking out perdeim of your pay but then he decided to take more out with out even the heckie does to tell you before hand . He has a place in utah and now some where in florida where he keeps some horses. It was to bad what happen to his mechanic that work there for so many years and now he can't get any money from all that work and faithfulness that he showed to that man. That guy that got hurt because off an accident in the shop on shoptime does not deserve what he is getting . I wish that there was some way to shut this man up for life(longshore). I hope that he can't get anymore drivers to go to work for him. The place is a rip off ......:Also ,he has purchase four new freightliners, one black, one silver or gray, one maroon and one red (coronado). But he can't fix the trucks cuz he has no parts and can't afford them. He also has purchase a few t-2000 and freightliners that are used from CRengland and Stevens transport. Those were junk before he bought them. biggrin_25516:KATALYST WORLDWIDE THE NEW NAME

I drove for Metal for two years, before I moved overseas. This was back through 2002-04.

While I listen to you guys complain about the company Metal, but this holds true for any company that attempts to stick a driver with a DOT paycheck taker ticket. You are a professional driver and it is your job to know - what is right and wrong with your truck and permits regardless of what company you work for.

Above all it requires that you pay attention and know what is what in the job. I have shut my own truck down and refused to move a mile. To ensure such, I rolled into a DOT weigh station in MD and asked a simply question. Sat for three days with DOT, but had the problem fixed with a $400+ fine to the company. Another time, I called DOT when I was without a permit and had an overweight load, truck total out at nearly 93,000 lbs.

What it comes down to is this, while we all like to make money, we are the driver and we in the end have the choice to refuse or accept the load or the problems of the equipment we run around with. But if you really wish to warn people about a trucking company try Davis Transport out of Montana. (I don't remember the full company name, but they treat their drivers bad and will fire them at a drop of a hat. With this company I was involved in an accident I was not at fault and was fired. Another driver I ran across and I knew from the company was fired because he hit the air horn in a city when an idiot four-wheeler pulled out in front of him.)

I do miss driving and running those miles. Ah such is life.

Just remember you are the driver and you always have a choice. Sometimes those choices are not always ones we want to make, but it is still your choice.

    Grizz
