What is their deal? I have met students to get hired through them right out of school. I have no experience, but have very solid work history, perfect MVR. I was denied by them without reason and said I can reapply in 6 months. Are they just not hiring new drivers, or do they just not want me? I could not get their recruiter to give me an answer. He just said they have decided to go with other applications. With my history and lack of issues with my record I can't understand why I would be shut out if they are indeed hiring students.

Right now these schools are turning out so many students, plus there are companies closing their doors all over the US unable to ride out the economic storm. It makes no sense to hire students when they can hire someone with experience. They will still hire a few, and even those are going home to wait on a trainer.

Get used to it. With the economy in the crapper very few are hiring. 2 years ago they would have grabbed you up in a minute. Just keep banging on doors and you will find an in . Good luck.

I'd count your blessings. Check out another company, or wait until things pick up. TMC used to be excellent in their compensation, and the way that they treated their drivers -- they are going down hill like everyone else is, though..

I'd even venture as far as saying they have it worse than most other companies, due to their needless spending over the last 5 or so years.

Well I look at it like their loss as I have 4-5 other job offers by reasonable companies. I still wish TMC would hire me, but I can always move into flat beds at a later date if I want.

Hey Bulldog, THANKS for your service! There is plenty to read on this forum about the ups and downs from all different views. Take your time and read read read...Theres alot of good info for someone looking to sign on with TMC...

In my opinion they are one of the best places to start with no experience. Especially no flatbed experience...they will, with out a doubt, teach you the proper ways to secure all kinds of frieght by their standards as well as DOT.

Good luck whoever you end up with once again thanks again for your service!

Hey guys, i live in Mason CIty, IA, about 2 hrs north of DSM, and I have been reading around on here about TMC, the good, he bad, and the neutral. I thought at first, it was an awesome company, but now im second gyuessing myself, reading about cheating logs, a min of 5 loads a week etc. How much o this is true and accurate.

Also, how would you rate TMC as far as a good trucking company to hire on with?

cheating on logs will land you in big trouble and you will get caught, safety is watching more the ever. As far as loads, it's a rough time of year, your loads vary by region, length of run, etc.

It's a starter company bottom line.

Go find a TMC driver at a truck stop, buy him a coffee or a coke, see if he wants to talk about life at TMC.
