Ok so I didn't start this year but knowing Jason and others at RDTC I feel I can say with certainty that they do a great job in teaching students. My class we had three to a truck and had plenty of driving time. The instructors are thorough and are always critiquing the student so at the time of the test you are prepared. Unless Roehl has gotten new lines of freight going west is not common. I guess it depends on what division you go with. We never had a problem with payroll that didn't get corrected by the next payweek.
Roehl Anyone have anything POSITIVE to say?

This is exactly what my friend (who drives for Roehl) said. Payroll is almost always correct or if not, it IS fixed next time.
can I ask why you didnt start, but took class?
PS. if there is a thread on this, please post it so I can follow - thanks

I was with Roehl for two years. My husband was there for 4 years. We were a team until June of this year.

Roehl is very satety conscience. Every thing is about safety. I am glad they feel this way when so many other trucking companies don't care at all about safety.

This is among the #1 thing i hear from people. Its nice to hear.

Or, their drivers have less access to internet and spend more time driving instead of writing on forums. Which is a good thing.
Joking aside, Roehl is a good choice for beginners for many reasons, and it is a very good for you if stick around for 5+ years.
There many drivers who are with Roehl 10+ years. Your benefits get better, each year + 1 cent to mile.
Hometime fleet is a good thing, and I had almost never had a problem getting home on my 11 national.

I was hired at the end of April, and got my first truck on June 1st. One positive was that they hired me
Besides that, they have been an Ok company, switching from the national to the 7/7 fleet I got a better fleet manager, and I'm getting much better miles. I'm going to be late getting home, but only because I ran out of hours due to a traffic jam, otherwise they would have ran me perfectly, 10 hours a day, over 7 days. I've all ready notified my fleet mangaer / dispatcher / DSR that I want to be a trainer, and from what I can see running 7/7 and training is a great way to work. From the guys I've talked to, National guys are usually pissed, Hometime guys are a little upset, but generally happy, and the local guys look like a woman on her wedding day (very happy). Hope this rambling gave you some insight. Good luck with your choices.

This makes me wonder. Because a lot of the negitive I hear is from those with big ego's and bad attitudes to follow to be the reason why they have such a bad time with a company. These day's I've been hearing more negative than good on companies here. Kinda making rethink going back on the road even though there's no other work here where I am. It's slowly dying here.
Anyone run South East regional? Thinking about trying out for it if they hire me. Just want to be in the van division. Also, do we have to travel all the way to Marshfield just for oerientation or do they hold it at their yard in GA? -
Keep in mind that normal people also need to vent their frustrations. These forums are a great place to do that and so anyone reading these posts needs to take what is said with a grain of salt.

Handarko,
I started a year ago went through rdtc ... was like u I thought Roehl or Millis.. made the better choice, I live near you as well. I am van national... I get home every other friday for 3 days,(WE live on a major freight lane, so getting home is easy) always (knock on wood) have a preplan before i drop a load. Avg 2000 to 3000 a week... am in Atlanta headin to KY in the AM... as far as whiners at terminals I dont bother sitting up there unless truck is in the shop... which is usually only PM's... I'm way to layed back to let the small crap bother me... after 15 years in the military they cant do too much to me
