On this side of the country. I'm not sure if 7 axles can even gross 70k. On a standard 10 wheel dump. With 3 drops in front of the drives and one drop in the back that adds 5 feet to the overall length. Or maybe it can.

Op, get an empty tare weight on the truck and trailer next time. And stamp in the contract before the rate con. Mines is 35k Tare weight and I specifically state it in on the contract. Don’t load me more than 44,000lbs. Allow 1,000lbs of play to scale and distribute the weight.

I learned my lesson running overweight loads in the backroads of Virginia and Maryland lol. Yeah the DOT will escort you back to the interstate so they can weigh you. Ohio is doing the same thing in the backroads, pulling people over with them portable scales. US 30 Ohio? Portable scales on the shoulder haha.

    JoeTruck Thanks this.

And they use portable scales in MA too, although you have to do something really dumb to get MA DOT’s undivided attention!!!

Once I was 80700 rolling into Bentonville and a trooper had a dump truck on a portable scale in Bella vista.on a Saturday.
Anything over 79500 is very difficult to balance. The best you can do is put the extra weight on the drives and burn fuel.
