Skip dont mean squat..Its radio to radio is where you see how well it works....Highly doubt you got a perfect match cause its #### near impossible in a perfect world with equiment by far better than a 4 ft ant and a 655 with coax runnin through the door..

I let a tech talk me into doin that yrs ago in a volvo..It rained and i got wet along with door locks n window electronics....

Dont be afraid to take some time i run the coax the right way, search for route that dont damage coax or pinch it..Tell me you know not to depend on a radios meter or them cheap trk stop swr meters with cheap jumpers n such..
The 655 is a nice radio so keep it safe and grab a ohm meter and buy an analyzer..
A 6ft top load ant will noticeably increase your range and give you a truer reading...I bet your getting cab reflect with that 4 ft ant to..

My 655 works very well the way it is. As for the cable routing, it goes between the door molding and the door frame in the truck. Has been this way for over a year with zero issues.

I am not here to argue with anyone, but just to share what works well for me. The radio is tuned very well, and radio to radio works very well too.

I have no need for any analyzer as it woukd be a waste of money for me.

I am also no exert and do not claim to be. Just trying to help others if I can.

I have always thought reaching out 10 miles radio to radio is pretty good. Some days more, some days less.

Yeah its not to shabby but when there is room on the table for more,to me its worth it....I lime when i can talk n listen fjrther than some guhs do with an amp...It also depends on conditions to but still...

Just watch these vids(notice the rl and swr in my vid) and see the diff..One vid is mine and another is fine tune..

Best part its a free tweek if you have the tools and it sux but they are never free..If it helps the life of your gear and gets you more then me personally ,im all for it..

I still got alot to learn but im tryin and learning..Help from folks here and a cpl guys i know along with trial and error....
