How did the actual designation for the fault code read?
Usually after a fault code is triggered the computer puts it in to inhibit mode to protect the transmission so it would be odd to be inhibited without a code being set?
Do you have the capability of reading the system to see if it is actually in inhibit mode?

Typical fallback I have seen in the past with this issue is flashing of the commanded gear on the gear display. Once gear is attained number will go steady. No faults logged.

After it warms up and you put it into drive it will start flashing arrows down. It will not go into gear. No faults show up. Input speed is 150. I was on the phone when I did this and left it in gear for a few and all of a sudden it went into gear and input speed went to 0. After this it will go into gear but if you rev it up in neutral then it takes a while for it to be in drive and drop into gear.

I think from what you are saying the inertia clutch is not holding effectively and stoping the shaft for engagement.
If when you are able to get it in gear and then slip it in neutral if the clutch was dragging the input shaft should start to spin and it should not go back in gear.
But it seems that you can return it to neutral and back into gear with out a problem as long as you don’t rev it up?
I would also think if the clutch was dragging that bad the input shaft rpm would be a lot closer to engine idle rpm not the low 150 rpm input shaft speed you are seeing.

just want to point out that NO ONE makes a automatic transmission for a class 8 truck..

Its a AUTOMATED transmission.. as in a standered 10 speed with a computer to control the shifter and clutch
