The heated windshield never worked on my VNL, I've had it a year. The windshield cracked and just got replaced, I hoped it would fix it, but no. The switch on the dash lights up, the fuse is good, there must be something else in there. I replaced the lock module when I got it, I'm hoping one of the other modules in that area is for the windshield, does anyone know?

Or is this function controlled by the body control module?

Heated windshield I didn’t know trucks had that I’ve heard of wipers . Sounds like a cool feature I’d suspect if it’s like a heated rear window they have wires going to it . I’d suspect they cut them while cutting out old windshield in the past.

These windshields don't get cut out, they use a rubber gasket. Repair people said that was in case windshield needed to be kicked out. The exposed wires where they connect to the windshield are good, the rest of the wire is hidden behind the a pillar plastic cover.

The windshield has those lines like a rear window defroster has in a car, they run down the sides and across the bottom.

Did you end up solving it?
I have a 2023 vnl 860 and I don’t think the windshield heats either, just wanted to see before I go to the dealer

I have one on my 23 VNL 860 and it works fine. Did you check fuse to make sure it is not blown? Mine works pretty good so far.

    I did check the fuse
Even checked that those wires connected properly and received power when turned on.
Still when touching the heating elements they are cold, as cold as the rest of the windshield ‍♂️
Maybe I’m expecting more than what is actually needed. On my Dodge Durango the heated rear window visibly melts ice, while here it’s kinda anticlimactic imo

Have you made sure that the connections are on the windshield touching on each side? Might have something going on in that area. Mine work just like any other one in the back windshield on any car.

Mine was actually working, it's just such a low temp you can't feel it. Use a non touch laser thermometer to check it.
It's really rather useless. Doesn't do anything at speed in the cold, mostly for helping the windshield defrost and free up frozen wipers in the morning.

    Siinman Thanks this.
