My personal experience with a 2 stroke has always been good, dependability wise. The 71 series ( not the 12V ) has always lacked the power most want in a road truck, but a good 92 can can surprise ya. The aftercooler just not very big on a 8V92TA, since it sets under the blower. But I have seen dyno specs from a 8V92TA with a cac added which did indeed help. Needless to say, heat is their enemy with the small waterjacket......

I see them around occasionally, not even sure what a shop would ask for a turn key pump.
My pump is hotrodded and dread ever having it rebuilt lol, it’s a Frankenstein. I’ve used it on the N14 too.... -
Here is a thought. I remember a pic from you a while back of a yesteryear truck with a KT sittin in it for a donor engine. Just a thought!
