Never any good options when your pinned
Up against the coast or even worse in the
    Northeast corner of the country.

    No drive by house loads.
Only thing I've ever done in Maine in a dry
Van is heavy water loads going to New York City.
    Never again on those deals.

It's gonna suck no matter who you work for
Up there wanting to be home weekly.
Western express 250 mile northeast loads
Won't be any worse than anybody else's.
You gonna be miserable either way.

Look for a dedicated run out and back.
You might make a few pennies less but
You'll be a whole lot happier.

@farmerjohn64 seems to be doing alright with WE.

I do have to say this though. I see WE trucks pulled around back at one of the weigh stations I regularly cross.

He’s flatbedding. Even at a bottom end mega carrier, the flatbed division will be better.

    Doesn't make a difference.
Safety rating is still the same.
They don't separate dry van, flatbed and reefer.
    Its all the same company.

A rookie flatbedder is even more dangerous
The a rookie pulling a dry van.
All kinds of things can go wrong.

I disagree . I started at swift flatbed division and it was night and day different compared to the rest of the company.

Don’t listen to Mackey; run, run as fast as you can! Unless you’re a felon, then I say welcome to Felony Express :Do_O

WE has a dry van terminal up that way in Pennsylvania, but I wouldn’t consider them as a first choice especially since you have experience; my biggest two complaints is equipment and low pay; I’d at least make sure they pay you what you’re worth and not the starting 32 cents a mile

It doesn't change the safety rating for the company.
    That's the point.
In the DOT eyes your all the Same.

the company is only nicer to the flatbeders because
They know most people aren't dum enough to do
    It. That's reality.
