I have to go load Sunday in Curtis Bay for Michigan. I am scheduled for service in Williamston for Tuesday. I haven't heard anything about my 9 car recently but I'm hoping that I will be picking it up while I'm there and deadhead home for Thanksgiving. I know I will need to spend a day or 2 in Greer to learn the truck, but hopefully I can get a load or 2 on at the end of the week before going down there for the formal training. This week I ran hard, delivered 8 loads for the week and won't get my 34 hour restart now until Thursday so I have to watch my hours heading up there. Catch up with everyone soon!:)

Oh well, things didn't work out as planned. I delivered in Michigan Monday and ended up in Toldeo for service instead of Williamston. I think my team leader is full of it. I asked why I wasn't going to pick up my 9 car on this trip and was told it wasn't happening right now. What a waste of a week so far. I arrived at the Toledo shop at 1p.m. Monday and didn't leave until 11 am Wednesday! So much for fast service. These guys there are #######! I should have been out of there Tuesday night. I did pull out of the shop Tuesday to load Jeeps but as soon as I opened the truck up at Jeep, I blew a hydraulic line that was supposed to be replaced. Instead of replacing the line, they wrapped the old line and made it look new! The shop came out on a road service call to replace the line at Jeep but the load supervisor cancelled my load and went home so I had to go back to the motel until Wednesday. Then, I was told that they were going to replace the line next to it because that one was looking bad as well. I came back from the motel yesterday morning to find my truck still sitting where I parked it and a first shift crew with no knowledge of why I was still there!! I will never go back to that shop again!! I didn't get home until 4:30 am today with a load of Mercedes to deliver on Long Island for Friday. I was told by my "team leader" that if I wanted to be home for Thanksgiving, I had to load Jeeps, run all day to Baltimore and reload to get past the house. Needless to say, when I parked the truck this morning things were getting blurry. Who knows when I will get out of this truck and into a better piece of equipment so I will keep milking this one out for all it's worth. At least I made it home.

Still loving life hauling cars!!! Things are busy and the loads have been clean. Yesterday I was loading in Baltimore and had the opportunity to help out a newer driver. He had a dealer give him a hard time and wrote up all kinds of stuff on a couple of cars and he was being real hard on himself. I told him none of us like when we have damage, especially if it was stuff missed on inspection. He was telling me how when he was flatbedding he took pride in the fact that he never had a load claim. I told him he needs to have a short memory when it comes to damage and to just move on. He will have better days and to not worry about losing his job or anything like that. BMT doesn't fire you for cargo damage. They will fire you for not straping down your load and hitting a bridge. Not much else as far as I know. I'm scheduled this week to swap out of my truck and into my 9 car. We'll see if it happens. I'm not holding my breath. We're so busy I see why I haven't been out there and then lose more time by going to Greer for training in it. Heck, I'm making almost 2K a week and home every nite now! I can't complain about it!!!!!:):notworthy:

I finally got my 9 car!!! I picked it up Wednesday in Williamston. I have truck number 0529. I took it down to Greer and trained for a day and left out with a straight load to Nashua, NH that I'm leaving out with tonight. I have 6 of the new X5s and 2 roadsters and still get paid for an empty spot! The load pays $802.88!!! Not a bad way to start the week. I finally put a face to a name Tuesday night when I arrived at the shop. Dave was talking to a shop supervisor and was talking about puppies and I went up to him and introduced myself. I had seen Dave before but didn't put things together. Funny how things go. Well I need to get my honey-do list done before the football game so I'll catch everyone later. Have a good weekend!!!:)

Oh boy, kinda sorry I read this one. With my man working out west and me less than 30 minutes from Nashua NH, you can bet I wish it was my man in your truck right now! Good pay too! Mine's best, to my recollection was about that much for 9 cars from Fremont CA to Salt Lake. We're still interested in investigating other companies, such as Bavarian and Reliable. I say Bavarian sounds real good, especially tonight, lol. Also, we're planning a move to Greer in 2207, so that opens some possibilities for better hometime. As of now, we're taking turns flying across the country to see each other. Spending Christmas and New Year's without him, I'm afraid, airfare is just too high around the holidays. Happy Holidays to you all! Be safe.......

Saw hubby again today in Jersey, gave him the 1 finger salute. HeHe, I only give the finger to people I like, especially when I do it with a smile.:) The 9 car is working out well so far. It will take some time to get my load time down but I'm sure it'll all work out in the end. Tell hubby I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to talk but I had to beat rush hour heading south. Have a great holiday everyone here on the board if I don't get a chance to sign on again before then.
