"Road Train Member" is just a status. You gain ranks from how many posts you've made. A lot of us Road Train Members have been around long enough to have seen many One Post Wonders.

Basically folks who sign up, post a question, then immediately sign off and are never heard from again. It gets frustrating taking time out of our day to offer advice and the original poster doesn't even bother to check back in. It happens extremely frequently.

It's a real bummer when they're in a "situation " ,then it's left in a cliff hanger, where you never find out what the outcome was....just disappearing. I was blown away when the dude who composed the Werner Trainer Crapped Himself thread resurfaced not long ago.

The ones with mechanical problems irritate me the most. They get their free advice the least they could do is take 5 minutes to pop back in and at least let everyone know what the problem turned out to be.

I can agree with that, especially if we're talking about information that could potentially help others.

You don't destroy a rim and tire without doing something wrong. That takes some effort.

A bunch of folks have ruined rims when their super singles blow out. I only mangled one rim, but I did have several blow outs in all the years I pulled dry vans with super singles.

The OP didn't say if it was singles or duals, just giving a possible explanation.

There's a difference between damaging a rim when a tire blows out and blowing out a tire in such a manner to cause rim damage.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Used to have a killer run back in my dirt hauling days. It took me down Lucas Valley Road it's average grade of 6.6% and steep pitches of 9-13% as it winds up towards the ridge-line then you'd head across the Golden Gate to Lombard on to Van Ness then down Broadway onto the Embarcadero then past Candlestick and Cubby cove then through the Tenderloin to the docs. Fun and well paying run.
Another driver was always trying to get it and when I left they gave it to him. In his first two weeks he rear-ended a car in SF and destroyed a tire and rim going down Lucas Valley Road. He may of been going 20 - 25 mph tops where it happened. Got sucked into the wash on the side of the road. Could of happen to anybody. Didn't get canned. Just had a real bad week. On that run you had to be mentality on top of it 100% or bad things were going to happen. I switched to fuel delivery so I could relax a little.

My point is that Bad things can happen to otherwise good drivers. Not excusing the mistake, just saying #### happens sometimes.

My second point is that its nice to hit traffic lights on the Embarcadero. You know what beautiful women joggers do at stop lights? They stretch:D Man I loved hitting stop lights in SF.
