DD13 recently developed a fun little thing where it will start, run for 3 seconds, then die. takes a good bit of cranking to get it going again. just found bubbles coming into the bottom of fuel water separator, with the valve closed. what are the chances those two things be related

is that poor o ring seal on the spin ring just coincidently in the same spot as above the drain valve, orrrrr....where else the bubbles coming in? air in fuel system, i do a diagnose

HPFP. High pressure fuel pump. Remove your other fuel filer and look inside canister and filter for metal shavings.

Would that also correlate to the noise OP posted an audio link to in their other thread?

read a lot online about it being air in the fuel system from various places, or also there is a fuel quantity valve that likes to get stuck. it hasn't shut down while running yet, just the first morning crank it will turn back off from no fuel if you don't rev it hard when it first turns over. one time I caught the revs and took it up to 1500 and it stalled from up there too. idk, no sputtering either on the way down...it had fuel, started up, then zero fuel, like it sounds if it ran dry. then a good 3 or 4 key cycles and cranking to get it going again.

    add 1 clue

1 day sitting, fuel still in davco, same level, no visible leaks. tried the hand pump built in fuel filter primer, no resistance at all, loosey goosey. pumped it stiff, started right up, no hiccups or stalling out. losing prime somewhere. bubbles in davco coming in on input side from somewhere upstream. how to tell where?

    2. tripac running, fuel in davco gone, filter primer loose af. tripac shut off, filter primer fills the davco back up. filter primer making bubbles in davco. davco full, primer tight, easy start.

injector seal! wonder if warranty, factory stock untouched at ~370k miles
