Yeah, i have seen what you call water out there.

 

Spring cleaning in the fall of the year, doing some serious moving stuff out.....

 

I noticed that I forgot a step, add the melted butter / bacon grease as part of the wet ingredients.

Here is a variation on baking.
If your using a cast iron skillet, heat the skillet in the oven, you want it fairly hot. Enough to melt butter or grease, make sure the skillet is coated every where. Pour in the batter, it should sizzle just a little, bake as usual. It may shorten the time a few minutes.

 

I surely don't fault you wanting a homemade cornbread recipe, but this is the best boxed kind we've been able to find around here. If you see it snag a box. Might come in handy in a pinch..

 

Wife made a apple pie in my Griswold cast iron skillet the other day.... outstanding!!!!

 

These guys would not do well in the southwest lol

Stuffed this in the corner for now. #2 rod bearing spun. Now I dont know if this caused it but the rod is installed backwards. Strip it down after I glue mine back together. Not bad for what I gave for it. New Air comp, power steer pump and starter.
