Thank you so much guys! i took the truck home from texas to wyoming and avoided all "unnecessary" use of my jakes, kinda feel silly now but i am glad i could use you guys as a good resource to uncover the truth. i am gonna go back to jaking it up every chance i get.

Never trust a car salesman. Never trust a service manager. Never trust a service writer. Most of them don't know $#!+ from apple butter, and......they all work on commission. They will all try to sell you stuff you don't need, and more often than not, never fix the original problem you showed up with. I have always wrenched on my own cars, pick up trucks, motorcycles etc. On the rare occasion I took one of the above to a shop to have it worked on, they almost inevitably did a halfa-ssed job or effed something up
