    Now get someone to explain how turbo sizing effects Jake's!
    @Hammer166 , @Superhauler
    How does the turbo come into play. On a C-15 for instance. My compounds make the Jake's work way better than my single. I get a headache when I try and visualize the flow of air when using the jakes

    Its kinda simple......less back pressure in exhaust ie turbo, less jake power.

    Exactly. It's why the Jakes are good on the motors with variable geometry turbos, they can really spin up with the Jake. And any boost really helps the Jake performance. 15 psi roughly doubles the cylinder pressure at the top of the stroke, 30 psi triples it.

    Atmospheric pressure is 14.7 psia (a for absolute) but 0 psig (gauge), which is what almost every pressure gauge is calibrated to. I've never seen a psia gauge outside of a lab. So the 15 psi from above is roughly 2 atmospheres of pressure, 30 psi ~ 3 atm, etc.

    Yeah I love that I can build almost 30 lbs with the Jake's. Makes a heck of a difference in the Jake performance

    John Bertucci and Hammer166 Thank this.

    Mine will down low, but Loveland Pass? 16 or 17 pounds is about it.

    Well, as an aside, how about Jake's and the first incarnations of the DP filter on the DD15?
    Keep in mind I don't disagree with anything that's been said, I don't know enough to.
    But I will say that my 09 Cascadia hated it when I used my jakes. Almost always I had to do a regen if I used them excessively.

    John Bertucci Thanks this.

    Because someone had to be the first to post a jake brake video.
