My partner and I just began an LP with a brand new 2021 Volvo VNL760. We started this run, our 4th or so with the company, and as I'm coming across Nebraska last night my check engine light came on.
I called Volvo, they said there is an open circuit in my DEF Injector. Must be serviced at a dealership.
Truck has 6,000 miles on it, all put by us. We picked the truck up from the dealer ourselves.
I was curious if anyone else has had any similar issues with brand new trucks?

Every truck will have a few kinks to work out of it when new. Parts are all mass produced and once in a while a defective one slips through. That's what the warranty is for.

Most new trucks have ( in my experience with 6 new company trucks) more problems in the 1st 50k than you will in the next 350k
Reason I always hated getting a new truckOmegaangelz Thanks this. -
When i order new trucks i always tell them to use as lead trucks. Anyone who wants the truck to arrive at the dealer with just a couple of miles on it can have it.

Dealer in Omaha does a good job. Yes it does happen. To all new trucks. Both my western stars when new had teething issues so to speak

As we say in our industry.....alot of these vehicles are put together by people...people are stupid therefore stupid #### will happen.
Probably just a connector that wasnt locked together fully and it backed out....Omegaangelz and flood Thank this. -
A splash guard hadnt been installed correctly underneath the cab. It flapped around, cut the doser wires, and that was that.
Warranty covered it of course, and dealership had me on the road before 11am. Highly recommend the guys at Lexington, Nebraska Volvo Trucks. Their Google reviews read true!
Just figured I'd be the first person ever to report back the end of a story on a forum. Stay safe drivers.AModelCat, QUALITYTRUCK and ZVar Thank this.
