What's with the flaming? I only told my story, have no reason to talk smack, I was looking forward to going with them. I've been driving on and off since '95 so I pretty well know what I am doing, not that I know it all but I've been around a bit. I was told one thing and when it came time to roll the story changed, nothing more nothing less. I heard exactly what was going on perfectly clear thru several conversations. No biggie. I found something else making good money, company paid benefits, sleeping in my own bed at night. From talking to others they seem like a decent outfit, just not for me.

Randy is back? He quit because he got tired of lying to drivers...anyway...I drove for wil-trans (posted what I knew about them at the beginning of the thread)...If you decide against wil-trans...I overheard 2 drivers that work for Western Express, one of them lives in Florida...might be worth a shot..

I got a e-mail for randy at wil trams stateing as : Its called the wil tap traing program.wil trans has stared a training program to benefit all. No up front money, and get paid while training.we offering a great job with top of the line equipment and some of the best freight offered in the industry. THE wil trans traing program, wil tap, brings in an inexperience driver and in 15 short months, produces confident, experienced, safe, educated, and successful drivers.WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE WIL TAP PROGRAM;Even before arrival, trainees will be speaking to many of the wil trans employees.A recruiter, training coordinator, and trainer, are just a few to be mentioned. For about one week the traiees are brought in,they will be here with wil trans for direct training. Trainees are not wil trans employees at this time. However, transportation, lodging and lunches will be provided. After the trainees show they can handle the equipment they will become wil trans employees.Starting pay is .10 cpm,and you will immediately begin your otr traing here with wil trans. YOU can look to be away from home an average of 3-4 weeks, and work towards your home time. home time here at wil is one day off for one week worked. When the trainer picks the trainee up from home, the trainees main objective is to meet mileage criteria and move up in seat class.Seat class is verified by mileage, hours driven, experience, and testing. there are 4 seat class:c,b2,b1,and a. c seat is a trainee thats just received their cdl license. must meet hourly and 18,000 miles to progress to b2 seat class. THE a seat trainee will complete the remainder of the 15 month contract assisting with the wil tap traning program by running teams with other b2,b1 or a seat trainees in a team operation. upon completion of the 15 month contract, wil trans offers a fantastic opportunity to become businessperators with lease or owner operation options. Just to be clear on this: You need to have completed a training school and have your CDL to begin the Wil-Trans training program?
-
Sounds very much like the Prime training program. IMO, Prime does a pretty good job with the training deal... I imagine that WilTrans will do a good job as well.big wheels Thanks this.

Hubby and I are teaming with Wil-Trans (I'm waiting for orientation while he's driving for them now). It's hard to sign a contract and pay for more training but.....let's face it there aren't very many companies out there running the miles they are and paying decent.
big wheels Thanks this. -
Not by the web site;It said they send you to C-1 driver training school for 3 weeks to get your cdl in same town, city, state.I'm don't sure I did not ask.I my self already went to cdl school with job placement program that sucks or it's that bad.
