I tell the new guys what I know and what I have heard. I have heard by far less problems with crete than prime has ever had. Prime has always had a bad rep from back to the old prime to the new prime. Like I have said the only ones I know of that think it is perfectly normal to charge drivers for stuff that a driver should not have to pay for and to convince the driver that it is normal is a brand new driver that does not know better.
Trucking is changing and it is true that training co's are sometimes requiring exp now, but what you call a trade off I call jacked up. Shame on prime or any company that is passing off their expenses off to the driver and making them think they are doing them a favor.

I can not stand being lied to. Prime jacked me around and flat out lied to me. The recruiter lied to me more than any other recruiter I ever dealt with. I got tired of all the lies and lack of structure. The best that I can say about them is that they are one jacked up out fit. I have never seen such a goat roping outfit.

Well that's your experience. My recruiter was straight up with me. No exaggerations, nothing untrue. Like I said, my experience is different than yours, and the fact that I haven't been behind the wheel of a truck since the dawn of internal combustion doesn't matter a bit in my perception of this company.

You want jacked-up? Try Stevens. Try CRE... Prime is a class outfit compared to them.

So if you're recruiter "lied to you" did you do something about it besides whine here?

Wasn't just the recruiter who lied. Pretty much everyone I came into contact with was jacked up from getting the truck. Had to go to altus to get one. To getting the load to get the truck back to springfield. Was lied about the pay to pull the load back to springfield. After getting the truck to altus after having to have it worked on in altus. Problem not fixed. Put it in the shop in springfield, again problem not fixed. Mechanic backed the truck into the curb and tore the mud flaps off. I went and asked him about if he knew he hit the curb and tore the mud flaps off... I don't think I did.... funny, he pulled forward after hitting the curb...

A bunch of more lies I am skipping to get to get to this classy lie... Got a load down south somewhere in GA. Kicked that load off. Next load was call for directions to make sure you have the right plant. (several plants in that area) I call and on this call I got transfered a bunch of times and I am put on hold several times. I finally get the dept they want me at and I am told the load won't be ready till after the holiday on tuesday. This is friday. Prime promised me they would get me home for the weekend to pick up supplies, clothes, cooler, etc... no problem getting you back to get your stuff..... So I call prime and they jack around a good bit on the phone and finally tell me they just got off the phone with the shipper.. the load is ready, but they only load until such and such time.. better hurry and get there or you will be stuck down there..

I told prime they told me the load has not even been painted yet, and won't be till tuesday... no. no . no.. it's ready go get it..... I needed fuel and really had to beat feet to get there on time.. I pushed and made it and check in and what am I told??? WE told you the load won't be ready till tuesday.... another lie from the respectable people at prime... no loads out of there and I am not going to set there 5 days with the clothes on my back and the few things I brought to orientation. I got mad and bounced home. I ate the fuel costs.

Real class place that prime.... Place was a cluster in orientation... no 2 people up there was going off the same agenda... DID I mention that prime is jacked up??? Because I want to get my point across on how JACKED UP they are... I got tired of all the lies and cluster fluck that they are.... so go ahead and wave your banner and tell the newbies how great a place they are... Go ahead and prime them for the fact that they will have to pay for equipment that a driver should not have to pay for.. Tell the newbies this is common practice in trucking like you have been, but this time tell them it is only common if it is a JACKED UP co...

    now thats jacked up.......
Notarps..... I just gotta know one thing did you get an passmore truck in altus oklahoma or did you get a prime truck?
I know after the raping prime did to passmore they were taking passmore trucks to springfield to switch drivers into prime trucks and strip passmore trucks down to either be resold or leased by prime.
Which i did touch on this subject in ... Only the newbies sing the praises 2.

    Passmore.. here it is..

Getting this truck was a nightmare. Go to orientation. Of all of us there for flatbed they had 2 available trucks. 2 beat up freight shakers about to fall apart. One was puke yellow, one was powder blue.. The rest of us had to go get one of passmore's trucks.

Was told we would go to altus to pick up trucks and pull stacked trailers back for prime. Get there check out truck. By the way there was no trailers there. Truck had problem. Put in shop. Truck supposedly fixed. Truck was stripped down, no equipment. Had to sign for tarps and equipment. Dispatched to get pre-loaded trailer. Had a 2 stopper on it. Had to tarp load of sheet rock. 1st stop would be out of route to go to springfield yard. Called to see if they wanted me to run it or come to yard. I am told I can not pull freight. I am not a company driver and I have not leased truck yet.

They him haw around and tell me get load and bring to yard for such and such pay. (don't remember the exact amount) I go get tarp load and truck acts up again. Was only about 10 miles or so from shipper. Secure, tarp and go back to yard to go to shop. Shop closed for the night. Go to bed get truck worked on again the next day. Head out, about a hour into the ride truck starts acting up again. I am told bring to springfield yard drop trailer and put in shop. Drop trailer in yard. Put truck in shop. Someone takes my trailer with my equipment on it. Was raining I asked when I came in about tarps on load. Told to leave mine on there. Will have driver call you before he rolls and will swap out tarps.

Driver never calls takes off with my equipment. Later was told I should have went in shop and put yard tarps on trailer. Nice of you to tell me after the fact. Finally get truck done (supposedly) lease truck and go to put myself on board. FM tells me I will need to go on national account as I am in a bad spot for them. Avg 1 month out or better. Recruiter told me I was in the middle of 3 flat divisions and could go home weekly or opt to stay out. Anyone besides me get the feeling someone has been lying to me??????

Told we got run for you. Deliver it and we will get you home before the holiday to get your stuff. I take off about 30 miles out or so, truck starts acting up again. I call the person in charge. He pulls the records and says the guys in the shop are are smoking dope or high on something. He tells me they entered this truck as a freightshaker and it is a pete. He tells me go ahead and run truck do what you got to do and we will get you back in and take care of truck...

I am leaving out a bunch of C R A P that is just as jacked up. I find out the load they told me I would get paid on from altus was about half of what they said it was. I think I got paid 20 some cents a mile including tarp pay... real class place that prime is... HAVE I mentioned they are JACKED UP? I want to get that point across...

After all this junk came to pass. I forget which one it was, but one of the prime 2 step shuffle dancers accused me of never going to prime that I was a recruiter for another co and not a driver. I will add that U 2 came to my defense and said I had a good rep on here and that he had read a lot of my posts and felt that I was a sincere poster. Pony has come along and said I got a bad shake at prime as well. I am not posting against the prime drivers. I have no resentment against them.. it is their jacked up co that I can't stand.

Prime might be good for training for a new person trying to learn reefer, but as I have said the ones that get easily offended if you speak out about prime is the new guys that prime has programmed to think that this is all normal in trucking.. Just for giggles how many of you pull a reefer and are told that it is normal for a driver to have to supply load locks for a company truck???:biggrin_25521:

That sux Notarps... sorry to hear that they gave you that P.O.S....

Sounds like they have upgraded their fleet considerably since then... even newbie Company Reefer Drivers are getting brand new Cascadias (and sometimes Petes) now.

Thanks, live and learn... then tell others..:yes2557:
Oh, they had brand new trucks for the reefer side. Even pete's. I would not want to pay for one of those jacked up new leases tho. It was the flat side that they only had 2 trucks available (junk at that) for I don't know maybe 20 some drivers.. the rest of us was shuffled down to altus to rob the bone yard.
