You guys should better go with a new truck right away instead of getting used. When it comes to work its hard to say. Right now it's busy for teams, but after New Years you might not have enough work on the spot market. Maybe check for companies who have dedicated team freight and will hire you

it’s impossible to figure potential profit without knowing who your customer will be. What freight will you be pulling?

 

Buy new, at 250,000 miles a year a used truck will be used up quickly

 

Its pretty tough running team dry van on the spot market, we've had guys try. You'd be running more as a super solo. There are some team loads out there, but they aren't real plentiful. Team reefer there is more, coast to coast stuff.

As far as earning potential, way too many factors to give a real number. All of our solo dry vans and solo reefers will gross over $200k this year, some of them have hit $30k month these last few months. Rates have been high, and thats not the norm. You could expect $25k-$30k running as a team/super solo in a normal market on the spot market. The market fluctuates a lot and often, so you have to take these averages over a long period of time.

 

Not a team, but have been trucking a long time. If you can afford it, I would buy new. Team running is hard on equipment. As team you can be easily running 6,000 to 7,000 miles weekly. The miles will quickly add up. If you are hard runners, you may want to look into leasing. You can easily log over 500k miles in two years.
As for revenue, think of it as double what a single truck can make. A single truck can gross $240k.
