    What is this part in the pic? I have oil leaking where it bolts to the block so hopefully it's just a seal. Thanks pic attached

    It's not just a seal. It's your oil separator and they all go bad. You can clean it and try the seal and you'll still be replacing it soon. They aren't cheap.

    You will know if the whole spinner goes bad. It will lose a gallon or so and make a noticeable mess for you. Long extended oil intervals tend to gum up the intervals of the spinner.
