Get full maintenance lease. If you cant afford it, stay company driver. Even a 2018 truck after year or two will get you in so much trouble you will regret you made this decision.

Got 894k on my Cummins powered 2013 now , wasn't impressed with an overhaul at 684k but that was a Cummins issue.
Its been very well cared for and not beat , still tight and no issues you wouldn't have with any other make .
I've owned freightliner, volvo, kw and international and all had theyre pluses and minuses .
Drove some newer peterbilts that rained inside as much as outside and consider them way over rated .
A truck generally will treat you as well as the first owner treats it / driver .
I see lots of steering wheel holders pound the piss out of equipment they don't own so I take zero stock in theyre opinions.

Got a '17 with DD15, we've driven this truck since new and I'm now looking at 902,632 miles on odometer. Literally just changed DPF last week after doing one cleaning of original DPF.
We have APU and are a team operation so idling hours are low. I fully believe we will get another 2-3 hundred thousand miles before overhaul. Engine is still running great.
Nothing has been replaced on engine except starter, a/c compressor and alternator.
Have had a couple issues with SCR system and have been towed twice as a result. This engine has been really solid for us and showing a lifetime mpg of 7.6, we normally run around 75k gross along I-10.
The DT12 AMT has been great with only one issue at around 600k miles when the spline shaft broke and took out a seal out back and put oil all over rear frame. It cost me 2 days and no money for repair as it was under warranty. Honestly, replacing all 4 wide drive tires has been our largest shop bill. If I were to buy another truck today, I would only buy one with a DD engine.
