I grew up in Michigan and moved to SW Florida 37 years ago as a teen.
Returned to Michigan to get into trucking and I have some close friends up here.
Michigan is Fine June through mid September.
Florida is Fine November through April.
Sw Florida is too crowded anymore so most likely St Petersburg or something north.
No home ownership in Florida. Just buy a 40 foot sailboat and live on it during the winter and pull it out for the summer during hurricane season
I plan on trucking 8 months out of the year and taking weekends off during the summer up in Michigan
I had my heart set on moving to Tennessee but I need to be around water too much
Johnsonville Tennessee is beautiful but still to cold and too hot depending on the season.
What if it Snows?

This is what the garage looked like before I turned it upside down
The boat in the corner is my other boat I’m dragging down to Florida next week.
I bought it 2 years ago because it was a one owner super clean boat
Haven’t been out on it once since I bought it. Too busy and too many friends with boats inviting me to go out with them
So off to Florida it goes. Probably sell it down there if I don’t like it. It’s not my cup of tea for a powerboat I like Performance boats .
Semi truck fits with an inch of clearance for height and length.Cattleman84, dwells40, LoSt_AgAiN and 4 others Thank this. -
Some places have cheap berths. Nola did when I lived there. From the freight point of view southern michigan is great.
I' want to buy in northern Indiana or just indiana. Rural of course. I don't know what housing is going to do. All those forebarences are they real do to people losing their jobs?. Or are they just not paying, since they don't have to. Interest rates record low.LoSt_AgAiN, stuckinthemud, lovesthedrive and 3 others Thank this. -

Michigan can be bad for freight. When it’s slow. Everyone’s chasing the Automotive. Half the time I have to DH to Ohio, to get a decent rate. Between Indy Dayton, Akron, Cleveland, and Toledo, seems to be the best for freight. Grand Rapids has year round produce loads.

You have to get at least to Chattanooga to avoid most snow. Gunthersville Alabama looks pretty good to me. I’d live around Knoxville though, just about anywhere. Except the crack infested area near the Kenworth Dealer. Talk about a shady area. Cherry street. Stay away!!LoSt_AgAiN, stuckinthemud, tommymonza and 3 others Thank this.

We had 3 choices for dinner. Pork chops, Pork chops, or Pork chops. We decided on pork chops. They were very good.
