I’m 24 myself. I could get up consistently at the same time, sure if I have a consistent schedule. Actually I did start getting up around 6 am without an alarm clock when I did some local work for a few months. But right now I’m otr, doing mostly reefer. I was fine all week until I had a 10pm appointment at a C&S warehouse.. and needing to be in jersey for a 7 am pickup after that. Now I’m figured on loads that have me running at midnight, soon as my recaps hit. #### recaps..

When I was a younger man, I had lots of problems waking up in the morning to get to work. Got in lots of trouble and almost lost several jobs as a result. Then, I discovered a simple secret that the younger and more foolish me couldn't seem to grasp. If I got to bed at a decent hour and was able to acquire enough sleep, I had no problems getting up in the morning. My problem was actually getting to bed before it got too late.
Not trying to say that's the problem. Just sharing my long experience with sleeping in. Also found out that if I used some fairly high energy kind of music as my alarm (Led Zeppelin, Rush, Stevie Ray Vaughn, etc.), it helped me. Seems it was not enough to physically wake me up. I'd just shut of the alarm(s) and go back to sleep. But, having music played as my alarm for about 5 or 10 minutes would wake my brain up enough to be cognizant that I needed to get up and get to work instead of just physically waking me up enough to shut off the alarm.
In the end, I tell folks that in my opinion, the way to get up in the morning, on time! Is to get to bed early enough that you'll get a good night's sleep before you need to get up.Rideandrepair, LoSt_AgAiN, God prefers Diesels and 2 others Thank this. -
One reason for men dying younger than women is exactly this. So see if you can't get your dispatcher to work with you. Legally they can't require you to operate in a reduced capacity and they know it. So mentioning that you're not quite rested enough and you'll head out again in 5 hours or whatever might help. Or might screw you over bad...depends on your company. I wish you luck. And sweet dreamsRideandrepair and LoSt_AgAiN Thank this. -

But boys are kinda dumb like that. When he gets widowed he often dies soon after. Probably realizes how much she worked for him and he's too lazy to take up the slack.
Women widowed on the other hand usually live quite awhile longer and reportedly very content once they grieve burying their last child to leave the nest....
