I’m putting together an end dump truck. I’ve only used cable controls for up down controls. I’ve always been told the cable is more responsive to lower the trailer quickly if it starts to tilt. Anyone use air controls? How’s the response quickness with the controls if you have to panic lower the trailer?

In the mid 70s we had 2 levers. 1 up and down other the pto. Later i had air controls they were quick. Had the wheels off the ground once dumping frozen sand for the townships anti skid. Don't really miss dump work. A bed liner may help.

cable is easier to feather down so the trailer doesn’t slam.... air just seems like it always comes crashing down,
