Don’t do it, and especially don’t work for Sisbro, a sister company of theirs. They’re infamous for trashing you if you quit and when I spoke to a recruiter there a few years back, his story changed so much you couldn’t keep it straight lol. I never would have responded to the job posting had I known it was Sharkey. A friend I worked with at a previous company had nothing but horror stories about Sharkey and their equipment. He worked there a few months after the company he had been working for for 17 years decided to close up shop.

Btw, said recruiter blew my phone up for 2.5 weeks after I told him I wasn’t interested before finally giving up so they apparently try baiting suckers into submission as well...

well, went for it before I read this. UPDATE: One word"mistake"
    Lets count them down!
    1. Was told home every weekend(home on Friday leave out on Monday)
Wrong! On there "Denver dedicated route" Leave on Sunday back by Thursday. Then its off on these 115 to 130 mile runs till Friday then up to northern Illinois then back.
2.You have to ask your dispatcher about your paycheck! (red flag for me)
3.Equipment no room having slow ugly macks!
4.The pay stubs look like printed off of a home computer
    5. There satellite/e-logs constantly go out.(Its a tablet from sprint) with XRS
    6. NEVER get paid detention time.( layover pay once when i set for 28 hours $25)
7.Insurance is worthless but it is free.(more per mile if you opt out so not really free)
    8. no WiFi in drivers lounge.
9.Will not let you change to local jobs they have open.
    10. Break down pay is $50 after the first 24 hours
    11. No toll roads (mainly I88 ) not a big deal for me.
12.Grocery warehouse and beer main loads.
    13. Trucks are plain AF talking manual locks and windows
    14. Trailers all junk mainly spring ride.
    15. Sleeper mattress had to Lysol the hell out of it and put a cover on it.
    16. You pay for scale tickets out of your pocket they reimburse
17.No cash advance unless you get a check then better have a good excuse for it.
    18. If you quit before 120 days you have to pay back your physical, orientation pay,and sign on bonus
    19. Get used to the truck your assigned they don't get rid of them till the 1 million mile mark

    Now the good part.
    1. not to bad of money.
    2.Dispatch aint to bad
    3. Have a power inverter that works sometimes
    4. orientation pay is paid after orientation( I thought was weird)
    5. sign on bonus paid on first 2 paychecks

Sorry in advance was not sure if this went under "Report bad trucking company" or not

That about sums it up only reason I am still here is waiting my 120 days out.

Did you have any luck? Geez, I can't even get the recruiter to call me back. Weeks of phone tag with nothing.

Scoutmaster did you read the post right above yours?? Does it really sound good! I think the recruiter may be doing you a favor not calling you back.

What I've noticed in the trucking industry, is that it attracts morons looking for easy money with no common sense. You shouldn't take anything on the forums as fact or a possible experience you may have. There are crap companies out there, but you don't need some low life laid up in his or her sleeper lazy as hell trying to persuade you to do or not to do something. Be a man or woman, experience, choose for yourself. These lazy drivers obese as hell and cant even make the right health choices, so they #### sure dont know whats best for you! I'm not talking about all drivers are garbage, just about 75% of them. You'll see them comment to this, trying to argue, or delete this, or get offended by what I typed. No one will look out for you, like you.

I talked with a driver and he liked it, good home time, variable pay plans. But when I read up on them there was a lot of talk about bad equipment so I started looking at their trucks and trailers and they didn't look good.

No wifi in the drivers lounge would be a deal breaker.

I used to work for a company out of northern Illinois and saw Sharkey trucks quite a bit. The equipment would be a real deal breaker for me even if the money was good. Never saw anything but cobbled together old Mack’s and even more ragged trailers, slow as hell and drivers looking like they hate life. McNay seemed like a far better company for the same area but I think they pay hourly, even OTR
