The industry is absolutely attempting to push the rates down. I booked 2 loads yesterday through Uber (against my better judgement) for right around $4 per mile, and both loads cancelled shortly after I booked them. So later in the day I booked a load I frequently do through Convoy for $5.40 per mile, and it cancelled a couple hours later. This morning that same Convoy load has been re-listed for $2.60 per mile. I bid it back up to $6 per mile, and they'll either take the offer or they won't. No skin off my back. If rates plummet again, I'll take a vacation. If they stay low for an extended period, I may get out of trucking. Getting tired of the BS and I don't need the aggravation at my age.

Idk where you guys are saying rates are going down? I just came off my best week since I went active 3months ago. $8400 on 2200 miles and didn't leave home till noon Mon, back home by 3pm Friday, and left Sunday at 9am. And this week has been the same as far as I can see.

Typically it starts in the west and works its way east. Rates have been sky high in the west for months, and now they're attempting to force the rates down probably because we have an over capacity of trucks out here which is also typical in the winter.

Gotcha I'm in the Midwest and haven't seen much of a change here yet. Things seem to be the same as they were when I started 3 months ago except for better for me now because I'm past that 90 day mark.

The fuel depends greatly on where you are but .40 cents off isn't really saying much if you are talking about TA, Pilot or Loves. All of them automatically raise their prices by at least .30 from what any other local gas station is just because they are a "truck stop". They then discount the price back to the "normal" price or simply #### you over if you don't get a discount.

Perfect example even with my discount FL sucks ### for fuel prices.

The Pilot south of Jax even with my discount on 2 different fuel cards is $2.63 gal. Meanwhile, every mom and pop fuel station around is $2.35. If I go up to north Jax I can get fuel at a circle K for $2.31. If I go to exit 6 in GA and go to Kings Truckstop I get fuel for $2.23 right now(awesome little fuel stop with great food by the way everyone should give them business) (a few weeks ago I was getting it at this truck stop for $2/gal)

Meanwhile, the 2 Pilots in GA 1 exit south are at $2.63 right now.. (my card is only given .12 discount from them but even.40 off you're still at the same price as the mom & pop place 1 exit north so no real discount. They are just overcharging at the big truck stops.

It's the same thing heading out on i10.. In Tally both the Pilot/FJ are $2.63 but there is a circle K I stop at just before Tally that the fuel is $2.21 right now.

So what I'm saying is that .40 cent discount is not really a discount. The big truck stops over charge like a mofo then pretend to discount the price right back to what every other normal gas station sells it at. They simply screw over and price gouge anyone who doesn't get a fuel discount. Pilot, FJ, TA, Loves none of them are fiends to Owner Ops they all screw us over while giving the Megas "normal" fuel prices.

Oh and 1 last thing.. Speedway which is owned by Pilot, I get that .30-.40 cent a gallon discount at all their truck stops but Pilot/Fj will only give me .10-.15 on average. I can still collect pilot points at speedway but they #### me out of showers by not giving me the same discount at the Pilot/FJ. Just another example of how they aren't friends to Owner Ops.

Yup, you have to compare the discount price to the cheapest smaller truck stop. If my discount is less then that I will fuel with my card. Few weeks ago I paid $2 a gallon at the TA in maybrook,NY pump price was $2.995, cheapest mom and pop was about $2.45. So in my opinion I still got a .45 cent discount
